Shandong designer Wang Peina won the 2009 International Fashion Week Award
In 2009, during the China International Fashion Week and related award ceremonies, designer Wang Peina made history by winning three significant firsts in Shandong Province and Qingdao City. She was the first Shandong-based designer to participate in the China International Fashion Week, marking a milestone for local fashion talent. Additionally, she became the first designer from Shandong Province to receive the prestigious China Top Ten Fashion Designer Award since 1995. Most notably, she was the first native of Qingdao to rise through the ranks of the China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week and be honored with the highest distinction in the Chinese fashion industry.
The 2009 China Fashion Awards were organized jointly by the China International Fashion Week Council and the Board of Directors of the China Fashion Association. These awards are highly respected within the industry and serve as a platform to recognize outstanding contributions to fashion design.
Wang Peina graduated from the Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology in July 1993. Currently, she is an associate professor at Qingdao University and a senior costume designer. She is also a lifetime member of the FD International Society and serves on the Qingdao Women's Development Advisory Committee. In May 2009, she founded Qingdao Peina Clothing Co., Ltd., with a mission to nurture original design strength in Chinese fashion and establish an independent designer brand. Her work reflects a deep commitment to innovation, cultural identity, and the development of the domestic fashion industry.
